“Hashtag History” can be navigated in a linear or non-linear fashion.

To read in either linear or non-linear ways, use the Table of Contents located in the sidebar in desktop and full-screen browser windows. On small screens, the Table of Contents is in the footer.

If you prefer to read this linearly as if it were a traditional dissertation, use the “Next Page” buttons at the bottom of each page to proceed to the next listed section. You can navigate straight through from the Introduction to the Downloads & Datasets section at the end.

If you choose to read out of order or selectively, I provide links and footnotes that direct readers toward information that may be necessary but is not directly visible on the page. You could begin anywhere in the work and then follow the footnotes or links to other sections as needed.

In addition, the site is fully searchable using the “search” widget in the sidebar (in a desktop window) or footer (on small or mobile screens). If you wish to locate a specific reference or find instances of a word or phrase, please use this function.

Finally, the site features accessibility options in the sidebar (desktop) or footer (small/mobile screens). There are options to view the site in high-contrast mode and to increase the font size.
